Traffic for Schools

Post new topic

Hi there,  we are re-locating to Mauritius and we are still deciding what school to put our children in.  We would like to reside in Black River and thinking of Westcoast school or Morningstar School.  Worried about the traffic, not sure which to choose?

Hi,

I have first hand experience of living in BR and travel to West Coast. In one short word... horrendous! It does depend where exactly, however from Saline Pilot to West Coast it’s approximately 30-35 even 40 mins one way in the morning.  Traffic can be bad, especially if you’re 5 mins late!

School buses are 90% of the time, dropping children at school after the bell has rung.

This is my experience and ultimately, we ended up moving closer to the school. Its also bad for work commute too!

Eish, sounds hectic.  Thank you for your reply.  If other people had other experiences please let me know.

HI.

We also live in Black River and our child goes to Palma for School.

We used to take him our self, but have opted for the (private) school bus later on. It just safes you a lot of frustration and fuel.

Thank you so much for the advice.  Also thought of the school bus.
