Will a Non-Resident Tax Status Affect our Registration in Belgium?

My husband and I have lived in Belgium since 2000. During that time, we have acquired properties here and have paid taxes in both Belgium and the US. We have been dividing our time between Belgium and the US for the past few years - since my husband retired. We have had our tax domicile in Belgium since we moved here.

This year, we spent more time in the US than in Belgium (a matter of days), and this means that our tax domicile will be the US.

Are we allowed to remain registered in Belgium if we are now non-resident for tax purposes. We will be continuing to pay taxes here on the income derived from rental property here and my  husband's pension.

I am hoping that an expert on this issue can answer this question for me.

The experts are the tax office. Ask them.
