Freelancing in Friesland!

Dear fellow expats and experts,

          Even after 3 months of brain storming I still couldn't come to a concrete decision on 'going freelancing' in friesland. I was working in the BPO industry for the past decade as a communication expert (English) which made me a scholar in email and telephonic etiquette with full professional proficiency. My ever lasting passion for Art and Motorcycles is what kept me from going insane whenever I happened to walk through the valley of death (that's just a metaphor though  :cool:  ) Thus I quit my job a year back and joined my friend's custom motorcycles garage as a painter cum artist and painted motorcycles. One of the best stretch of my life. However, I had to leave my deepest passion behind to join my wife here in Holland as she got a job on contract.

         The last 3 months of job searching yielded no bright results as I don't speak Dutch. I tried everywhere from Call centre/customer care agent, personal assistant, transcript, data entry job to medewerker sales in AH/Jumbo. Everyone disconnects the call after learning I haven't learned Dutch yet  :(   Though I am trying to learn from online courses it seems a lot tougher than I thought. A few forums and blogs are showing positive signs of becoming a freelancer they also say that you HAVE TO earn profit for tax purposes. Well of course I want profit in whatever I am freelancing but the question is what if my freelancing doesn't yield a good profit? Top of that, I am not sure myself what I am going to freelance!!!

          I need your help to feel the pulse of the Dutch community before I set sail. Based on my aforementioned skills in English and the few listed below, what can I possibly 'sell' in Dutch market?

* Skilled in Canvas painting, Oil and fabric painting
* Has experience and knowledge in Motorcycling and basic repair works as a beginner level mechanic
* Experienced in Motorcycle painting
* Good in Crafts work/ art from waste
* skilled in Styrofoam/ foam sheet sculpting for interior design works
* Can teach art classes for children and adults
* Can teach / assist / provide service for those who in need of drafting article/email/blog in professional English
* computer and internet literate. Can work on any data management and web support based work.
* Can teach computer courses.
* Good typewriting skills (36 words per minute)
* A rookie Tattoo artist (self taught)

Here are a few pics of my recent works:

P.S. I have went through all govt websites regarding freelancing laws and registration rules. And I have a valid Dutch residence permit with permission to work in Netherlands.

Hi RavindranAgni,

It would be better if you drop an advert in the Jobs in the Netherlands and create your cv there. If an opportunity arises, you will surely be notified.

all the best,
Bhavna
