Here is the news

The man is in charge of  a large religious movement and his followers have been known to bully and abuse the law and those of different Faith's and persuasions which is widely documented and reported.
The said person has been accused of breaking laws and the newspapers report he isn't in Indonesia to face his accusers.

I think he should return to Indonesia and allow the legal system to do its job and prove wholly guilty or innocent.

.

I know about him from all the media and my friends who are members. But don't know personally cuz rarely reside in my own country except leave like this Ramadan month.
My friend told me he was a good man he just slader victims from people who don't like. So there is no reason for me to blasphemy and hate him.
I'm sure he'll came as a man to prove his innocence as a Suspect.

Thanks Fred, yes I can't comment until the truth is relevaled or any fault is open.
About ahok I don't like to discuss this person cuz he's the man who is he source of the problem of all this, although the work there, but Has incised a deep wound for us Muslim. And about the video chat it's honest I don't know at all cuz I don't like to see things that are not useful. And also yes I have heard and real about the insight to Pancasila that is very unfortunate. He may also have less insight into how this independent Republic of Indonesia is. I agree with the first president Mr.Sukarno that Indonesia is plural country with many tribes and Religion's can't be made in one religion that the point of Pancasila.
I just want to wait for all this to come to an end and get back to peace without any difference and feel the must right, the strongest and the smarter. Pride will not produce anything.
Let him back to prove whether he's a real man. Running away from the problem will not solve the problem it self. Maybe he needs time to prove it.
Wait and see....

OI, Do you mind :D

Whilst the content of your post is a fine topic for debate, it's too far off topic and takes us far deeper into religion and politics that is allowed on this forum - for very good reason.
Pity, I love a good rag chew about such matters but we can't do it here.

As a note, the importance of these and related case as far as Indonesia goes is reflected by the prominence of the reporting in the international press.

Some groups are openly challenging Pancasila and, if they get hold of power, it will change this country dramatically and that will mean a lot of changes for expats (to keep the conversation in line with the point of the forum), but it will change life for Indonesians in a massive way as well.

By Yuddy Cahya | GARUT, INDONESIA
With their heads covered with Islamic headscarves, the three members of the Indonesian band VoB ("Voice of Baceprot" or "Noisy Voice") do not look like your typical heavy metal group.

Formed in 2014, the band of teenagers met at school in Indonesia's most populous province of West Java, and use their music to combat the stereotype of Muslim women as submissive or voiceless.

Wearing a hijab, or Islamic head scarf, should not be a barrier to the group's pursuit of its dream of being heavy metal stars, said Firdda Kurnia, 16, who plays guitar and sings.

"I think gender equality should be supported, because I feel I am still exploring my creativity, while at the same time, not diminishing my obligations as a Muslim woman," she added.

It seems the missing FPI dude may have decided to return to Indonesia sometime this month but the timing seems to suggest he's attempting to turn a criminal investigation into alleged spreading pornography and other crimes into a religious thing.
Quite how alleged messing with naked pictures of a woman (I wonder what his wife thinks about that) compares to the liberation of Mecca is a bit unclear to me.

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Islamic Defender Front leader (FPI) Rizieq Syihab is reported will return to Indonesia at the 17th day of Ramadan or June 12. However, Rizieq's lawyer Kapitra Ampera did not confirm the news. Instead, he shown a pamphlet on a call to anticipating the 17th day of Ramadan.

The pamphlet mentioned that a lot of important events in Islamic history happened on Ramadan 17, such as the Battle of Badr, the Liberation of Mecca, the Liberation of Andalusia (Spain), the Proclamation of Indonesia's Independence Day, etc. It also stated that it is awaiting for the upcoming Ramadan 17 (this year).

On the other hand, the FPI spokesman Slamet Maarif confirmed that Rizieq will come back to Indonesia on Ramadan 17.

One thing of some concern is the events mentioned were battles, all intended to change governments of the day.

The communist party has been banned in Indonesia for a very long time but some people are accusing the president of being an anti Muslim communist.
Whilst these allegations appear to be wild at best, they can stir up feeling in this country and those can be used by people for their own reasons.

The president chose a very Muslim affair to make sure his position was clear, that being a good political move.

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo reiterated on Saturday that he would crush PKI (defunct communist party) immediately if it reemerged.

"Let us know (if there is any sign of it), and we will 'hit' it," he said at the Ramadan 1438 H Study event held by the East Java regional chapter of Islamic organization Muhammadiyah at Muhammadiyah University in Malang, East Java.

He won't return to Indonesia until the president has changed

http://bangka.tribunnews.com/2017/06/03 … ieq-shihab

He wants his supporters to meet him at the airport.

The latter would cause absolute chaos, probably closing down the who airport so I really can't see the authorities allowing that one.
One has to wonder why such a move is being called for, the only reason I can see is to provoke conflict.

And back to not returning saying he will extend his visa.
Given the red notice and the comments from the Saudis, it's less than likely such a visa will be granted

Corruption is still a big issue.
Many departments are pretty much clean now but there is still resistance to the anti corruption work from many people.
The ID card issue has opened many cans of worms.

https://en.tempo.co/read/news/2017/06/2 … e-KTP-Case

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The House of Representatives (DPR) member Muhammad Misbakhun suggested the DPR exercise its budgeting right in response to KPKs stance over the case of Miryam.

Earlier, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) rejected Miryam S. Haryani, a suspect of a perjury case related to the electronic identity card (e-KTP) procurement project, to attend an inquiry special committee meeting. National Police chief Gen. Tito Karnavian also expressed the same stance.

In Northern Sumatra, this is no surprise given Aceh and its Sharia, etc.

"Rising militancy."  Yeah, one reads about that a lot in foreign press these days...especially regarding the Ahok debacle which unfortunately stands as a stain on Indonesia's reputation for secularism.

Is there really something to this?  I honestly don't know, but I don't sense it.

For certain, these radicals are under far more control and restraint these days as opposed to not that many years ago.
