I need an urgent reply. I am working in a government university in Jeddah and my university terminating my contract. I applied in various corporate sectors and finally get a job offer from one. But they are interested in Iqama transfer only and asked me to get permission from my uni for Iqama transfer but one of our admin supervisor was saying our university is a public sector uni so Iqama transfer is not legally allowed for government to private sector please advise me it really very urgent.

Forget it. Apply to a firm that can bring you back on a new visa. Government firms almost never transfer Iqamas.

Hi,

Don't waste your time trying to transfer Igama from Gov. to a private sector, Just leave with a final exit and come back again, or if you are married transfer to your spouse (if working) and then transfer again to a private sector without leaving the country.

I been through this a lot.

Good Luck.

It's possible through the Governor office though too cumbersome.

As the last two comments say: Try to go out and come back on a new visa.
