No one knows yet. There's a conflict between the Labor Ministry and the Council of Saudi Chambers regarding this, the latter being against the fee.

johnkuriakose

Okie this is how it is, Due to the high rate of unemployment of Saudi Nationals, the Saudi Govt. has made it a law that 50% of all employees in every company must be Saudis. 1:1 ratio and failure to comply will result in the company paying the Govt. 2400SR/yr for every additional foreigner. So if the company has 10 Saudis and 12 foreigners, it has to pay 2400*2. This is not your iqama renewal fee. But most companies or kafeels will charge you that amount when you go in for renewal. But coz the case is that majority of the companies here in Saudi do not meet that requirement and as a result has gone to the authorities to get it rectified and the Govt. is not looking at alternatives to the idea.

Are you sure about that? 50%?

Thts what i read. But coz many companies are fighting to revoke it, things can change pretty fast. And the latest report on this only talks about majority not as a specific number. So cant be sure.

TheLegendLeads

Sit back tight. Most probably, this suggestion will be revoked.

Obscure yet but of course, nothing like '50%'. They spent years formalizing the Nitaqat system and overriding it by a fixed number in a blink of eye doesn't make sense at all.

Its all over the news, why you seek confirmation from people? refer to arab news, saudi gazette its every where. The decision was challenged bu ministry said the decision stands.
but this has to be paid my employer incase you are not on azad visa.

borntobemild

what is an azad visa?

I think, as they say it...
Azad Visa = Free-Visa
(which is actually not-free, and rather, costly...) :D

Nopes Azad means Free but in the context is that it frees you from bounded to your employer. Btw, its illegal. Some Saudis, open a dummy company and hire people on their visas. They take monthly kafalat (admin fee) and one time charge (5000-15000) SAR to issue this visa.
The lcoal companies keep these workers as they have advantage of not issuing the visa (so less cost less hassle). For employee its good as he can leave the job any time.

But this type of visa is illegal and ministry keep striving on finding these individuals.

TheLegendLeads

Free visa = Visa free of job.

2,400 annual applies to all -- worse in free visa cases. The person himself will have to pay this new fees. So free visa will cost the iqama renewal around 5,000 SAR consisting on Iqama fee, insurance, labor card fee and admin charges. Not to mention the atop money for Kafeel.

smdrehan

what???if a guy has cum on azad visa and still waitng for his new iqama then he shud hv to pay dat 2400sr??

borntobemild

then he would have a sticky passport! LOL:lol::dumbom:

cyberguy

My case :
2400- labor card fee
1000 Insurance
600 - iqama renewal fee
6000- monthly kafeel charges
10,000 SAR ...
Its too much :(
