I read some articles saying that KSA was going to limit the amount of money you can send back to your home country. Does anyone know more about this?

All of the articles I read were from last year. Have there been any updates since?

That depends on how you are going to remit. They have the monitoring mechanism however, I havent heard of anyone not being allowed to send money.
As per govt rules, they try matching your remitances against your salary range. For instance if you are sending 100,000 SAR each month with salary of 50,000 SAR a month definitely and eventually somebody will come back to you asking for the additional source. The MOL in KSA is already working to define measures whereby they have your salary info electronically stored for comparision with your remittances, however this initiative is not yet implemented.

Let me know if you hear some thing else.

Yes they have plans but not implemented.
So dont worry as far as u t within your salary limits thr is no restriction.
Also if u want to carry cash 60k sar is the limit defined by saudi customs
