Hiya Ladyowl,

I have purchased 2 properties so far in Malta and as long as you have a decent notary then there really isnt to much problems.

Normally have to pay Stamp duty and deposit on signing of the Konvenju (Promise of Sale) which works out about 10% and the Notary fees are about 1%.

Stamp duty is 5% in total.

If you need any further info them please PM me and i will try to help

Hi Thank you for your response.  Do you know a good notary?

Are you an EU citizen ?
will it be your primary residence ?

I've PM'd you a link that covers the following

1. What property can I buy ?
2. what additional costs are there ?
3. what is the procedure ?
4. should I use a lawyer as well as a notary ?
5. Can I rent out my property ?
