Hi vanesty and welcome to Expat.com!

Do not hesitate to post an advert in the accommodation section of Sao Paulo classifieds, this may help.;)

Hi Vanesty,

You will really have to watch your spending if you only get R$1500 a month. Hopefully this is just the base wage and you will earn more if you give more classes. Check out what other schools pay per hour for classes, it should be from R$35 and up. Get started recruiting your own private students as soon as possible, they pay a great deal more.

If you have trouble finding shared accommodations you may want to check some of the local university websites or go to the campus and look at their bulletin boards usually they have students looking to share accommodations off-campus.

Good luck, any problems you can message me and I will give you what help I can.

Hiya thanks do much for your reply... I was thinking about recruiting private students but wasn't sure where to advertise for this...!?

Hi Vanesty,

You should do like I do, set up a free website at www.yola.com for a starter. Check out the neighborhood newspaper in the bairro you will be living in and also print up handbills or leaflets. You can hire young people real cheap to hand them out in strategic locations such as in around universities, multinational companies, major office complexes, etc. It takes some time to build up a decent student base, but it isn't difficult.

Cheers

Awesome thanks a lot!!
