Citizenship by descent..Malta

Post new topic

Good morning. Can someone advise. My mother is 86 years old born to Maltese parents and has Maltese grandparents. She was born in the UK. To preserve our heritage she wants to apply for Maltese citizenship. Should I apply at the same time or is it best to apply for my mother first and then do my application after. I have all her paperwork ( birth marriage  and passport details ) and that of her parents/grandparents. I just don't know where to start and what forms to complete. Any help would be so appreciated... Thank you

This topic was dealt with numerous times. In your case I recommend you contact the Maltese embassy in England. Once you are successful with the application of your mother you can do the same for yourself. At least at that stage you are familiar wth the procedure. However, be patient the Maltese clock is sometimes slow. Good luck with your venture.

I did my mother's and mine at the same time, and all went swimmingly. My mother went in person, though, and she was only 61.
