Hello. My wife and I are from Canada and we will be traveling to Hurghada in mid January. We are not expats, but we will be in Hurghada for 6 weeks and would like information on personal safety.

1/ Is it safe to travel by foot or car hire during the day to explore the area?

2/ Are all areas of the city safe to travel by foot both during the day and the evening? Are there places/times to avoid?

Thank you in advance for your input.

Hurghada is safe 24 hours  in most area

there is no any one with crime record allow to enter hurghada or stay in it

you can walk any place , and some places midnight is more crowded in day

and if you face any problem or any annoying  , just reach the police , there is always some of them around in every major area , or call the number , they will reach you in 3 minutes sometimes

just avoid the deserts area , that is away from buildings , do not move a lone without local guide or friend from the city

as the only place that may be a bit risky is near desert area

police and army can stop you  there , as some places border related to them
