As a member of the sales team, you will participate in the development of multi-year account plans for complex, strategic accounts, with an ability to act as a strategic, and technical resource on projects impacting the overall customer organization. You will be responsible for providing support and leadership in the crafting and delivery of technology solutions to meet a customer's business needs. You will proactively develop business and technical relationships at all levels of the account, ranging from system administrators to senior executives. You will need to understand key business objectives, assist in mapping those objectives to Veritas solutions, and drive identified opportunities toward technical closure. This role also requires significant industry knowledge and credibility within the competitive landscape, and must have the ability and confidence to influence customer decisions at all levels within customer organizations.

Your responsibilities include delivering presentations and performing demonstrations both internally and externally, on all relevant topics and solutions. You will coordinate with Marketing and Sales to ensure that Veritas initiatives are timely and appropriate for current end-user and/or market demand. Additionally, you will evangelize Veritas solutions to partner organizations while fostering and nurturing relations.

• Presents/demonstrates solution to high level clients and industry conference attendees
• Sound understanding of business principles and concepts
• Business and technology diagnostician with an intrinsic intellectual curiosity
• Ability to think about business in a way that is abstracted from how business functions are implemented by technology
• A change-agent, who uses business strategy to agitate and initiate action and challenge others via technology designs and solutions
• Translates strategic initiatives into delivery-focused change initiatives
• Uncovers the gaps between strategic needs of a business organization, and their abilities to meet those needs, and to craft technology solutions to help fill those gaps
• Provides general, as well as specific industry or product expertise to facilitate the closing of deals within the territory
• Interacts with Accounts Teams to help architect the solution, and develop and execute solution strategies for the territory
• Assists in managing solution opportunities to obtain appropriate and necessary resources
• Builds and maintains a network and up to date specific industry or product knowledge


Qualifications:

• Minimum of 7 years in the IT industry
• Minimum of 5-years in a Technology related pre-sales role
• Exceptional verbal and written communications skills
• Strong presentation skills
• Strong business acumen
• Strong background in data storage technologies
• Experience with server virtualization technologies (VMware)
• Experience with OS platforms (Windows, Unix, Linux, etc…)
• Familiarity with backup and replication concepts
• Knowledge of databases like Oracle and Microsoft SQL
• Knowledge of general enterprise applications
• Knowledge of sales processes
• Leadership qualities to drive customer solutions
• Ability to multi-task and manage several projects at once
• Able to travel up to 30%
