During my 5 years as a Team Lead, I oversaw a group of 30 employees. I managed the job assignments and scheduled the employees in the necessary areas to meet production demands. I addressed production concerns, machine issues and planning needs. Production and machine issues that were in my scope of knowledge were taken care of immediately, otherwise, these issues were relayed to the concerning party. I was responsible of sending out daily carryover emails within the department highlighting all issues and needs of the shop for the day. I worked closely with the planning group trying to meet customer demand dates. I then put this information into an excel spreadsheet and held an Operations and Planning meeting to go over what dates are feasible and cover the necessary steps needed to meet customer dates. I worked very well with the employees and have a very approachable personality. I have helped them develop their careers within the company, whether it was skill improvement in their current role, or giving them advise on different career paths they can take within the company.
I have participated and lead in efforts in obtaining new machinery. Visited machine suppliers to review and test machines to ensure they met what we were looking for. Worked with programmers and other engineering personnel to qualify machinery of proof out production processes prior to purchase. Coordinated with facilities on plant preparations for machine arrival.
I have taken many leadership courses which were offered within the company and I am always looking for new course that would help with my professional development. Leading a large group and getting everyone together to accomplish a common goal is very fulfilling. The company succeeds when we succeed.
