New to Campeche from England

Well London,

There are lots of places to encounter others. El central would be my first thought. Lots of visitors wander those streets. There is a lot of history and things to see there. The Malecon would also be a nice walk where you can encounter others. Some show up in the Starbucks in the Liverpool mall and also in that mall is a good restaurant.  When I'm in town, I show up often in TOKS which is a very nice restaurant with excellent soup.

Then there are the Mercados, I use the main peoples market, Walmarts for things you can't get anywhere else, Chedraui, and Mega. I have met people in all of those places. Then there are people near where you are staying, other visitors perhaps. There is an Irish pub not too far from the Malecon. I haven't been there but I know the Irish Pub in Merida is a meetup place.

There are a number of foreign students attending college here, so near any of the Universities should be a good spot to meet others.

Wander around and ask questions.

I spent some time in Campeche several years back. As I recall there was very few expats living there and not a lot of English spoken compared to East coast and Merida areas. It is a pretty town in Centro and the waterfront and low crime
