Remuneration structure in Qatar

Cheryl

Hello everyone,

Understanding the remuneration structure when living and working in Qatar will help you better navigate professional life. In order to help other expats and soon-to-be expats grasp everything from gross pay to net pay, we invite you to share your experience.

How is your remuneration structured in Qatar: basic salary, commissions, 13th month, etc.?

What are the common or mandatory allowances included such as transports, health insurance, pension contributions…?

What are the taxes and social contributions to be considered, especially if deduction is made at source?

What is the regular salary payment frequency in Qatar: monthly, bi-montlhy, weekly…?

Is it acceptable or common to negotiate salary or benefits?

Are there any specific differences in remuneration structure between expats and locals?

Share your insights and experience.

Thank you for your contribution.

hi Cheryl,

Salaries in Qatar are paid on monthly basis and there is no income tax on the salaries in general.

no dedcution from the salaries is allowed. Employer has to pay Gratuity minimum of 21 days of basic salary upon completion of each year of his service and can be paid once he resign from his service on prorata basis.

Annual return  air ticket, kids school fee, Accommodation, medical, Transportation can be a part of your package, it depends upon your pacakge. feel free in case you need more info and surely you can negotiate about it.

Kind Regards,
