Hiring advice needed for tech jobs in Qatar

ahmed bouliche

Hey everyone!

My name is Ahmed, a Backend & Cloud Infrastructure Engineer from Algeria with 3+ years of experience building and shipping production systems. I figured the best way to kick off my journey here is to introduce myself and ask for some advice from people who've been through it.

On the technical side, I work mainly with AWS (EC2, ECS, ALB, RDS, Lambda…), Terraform for infrastructure as code, Docker, and GitLab CI/CD. On the backend, I build APIs with Laravel and Python FastAPI, and I've worked on integrating AI capabilities (OpenAI API, OpenSearch) into real products. I've gone through the full cycle, architecting infrastructure from scratch, cutting cloud costs, building CI/CD pipelines, and mentoring junior engineers.

Now, I'm seriously looking at making the move to Qatar. I've been doing my research and I'm genuinely excited about the opportunities there, especially in tech. I'm open to CDI positions and I'll need visa sponsorship. So ideally companies that are open to hiring internationally.

A few things I'd love to get some community insight on:

Which job boards or platforms work best for finding tech roles in Qatar specifically?

Are there companies known for hiring international backend/cloud engineers and sponsoring visas?

Any tips on the work visa process coming from North Africa?

I'm ready to relocate and available immediately. Any advice, leads, or just a friendly welcome from people who've made this move would mean a lot.

Hello and welcome !

I have created this new thread from your post on the Qatar forum so that members can guide you.

I would suggest that you read the Qatar guide, in particular section related to Work and perhaps contact recruitment agencies in Qatar who might help you.

All the best
