Well you'd need to speak Bulgarian, if you are not an EU citizen which your profile says you're not. You will need to find a company willing to employ you and sponsor you, then they will apply for a visa on your behalf.

What kind of work were you looking for?

Excuse my bluntness but not a chance, I'm afraid!

Assuming you currently live in Ethiopia, you'd need to find an Ethiopian company to employ you, and then have reason to send you to Bulgaria for the sake of your work.

if you're looking at starting your own business you can do this once you have your residency sorted, but as with normal work in both cases you'd need proficiency in Bulgarian (be able to hold full conversations, read and write the language, etc)

Regarding being from Africa - in 2011 there were only 429 people of African ethnicity (regardless of what country they came from) in the whole country. So you'd have to make sure you check the logistics of actually getting in. Eastern Europe these days has some of the tightest immigration laws to non-EU citizens.

There's almost always a way, but you have to be brutal with yourself about whether it's the right way for you. Good luck!
