VFS Antalya Turkiye>Belgium Marriage Visa About Timeline

yigitmagnus

Hello everyone,

I am a 30-year-old Turkish citizen, and my partner is a 30-year-old Belgian citizen. We have been together for 2–3 years and met twice in Turkey, each time for one week. We submitted payslips showing an income between €1300–€1800, and the house belongs to her mother. During the visa application, we included a written statement from her mother confirming that we can stay at her house free of charge. I also provided a written chronological history of our relationship. I did not include any photos, but I wrote a handwritten letter of intent in Flemish.

Before applying for the visa, we had set our wedding date for March 2, 2026. I submitted my visa application on September 9, 2025 at VFS Antalya. The application reached DOFI on September 29, 2025, and on October 3, 2025, our wedding date was postponed by two months, updated to May 2, 2026. On December 4, 2025, when we contacted the municipality, they informed us that the prosecutor would not grant a second postponement and that we would receive an answer before the wedding date.

Has anyone experienced a similar situation? On average, when can I expect to receive a response? I would appreciate it if you could share your experiences with me. Thank you in advance!
