Single permit processing 2025
Hi, I got my annex 47 today.
application: 29 April 2025
work permit: 6 May 2025
residence permit: 11 September 2025
I had provided them with soft copy of all pages in passport while asking IBZ my application status. I think that minimised the time by a day or two.
good luck everyone with your single permit applications.
@welsonbelgium
oh no. That's very frustrating
Hello @all,
I’m happy to share that I finally received my Annexe 46 😁. Here’s my detailed timeline (Wallonia region):
Application date: 09/07/2025
Work permit approval: 10/07/2025 (I know, insanely fast and a bit unusual 🤯)
Annexe 46 issued: 11/09/2025 (just 2 hours ago, sent to my employer and the Belgian embassy in Algeria)
Big thanks to everyone for sharing your timelines—it really helped me stay patient. Wishing you all a speedy approval of your single permits as well! ✨
Have a great day!
@welsonbelgium
yes, still waiting.
@gaya96
I was on a similar situation last year but you are allowed to work 20/h per weeks until the expiration of the current permit but only work full time until the single permit is provided so the solution is to submit ASAP and explain the situation to your employer so they can be flexible hope this helps

Hi everyone!
I am supposed to start an internship in November in Brussels, but recently, my employer had to re-submit my single permit application as they had made a mistake in the original submission from August 4th. The mistake was noticed by the immigration office when they started to review my application and asked for additional documents. Had anyone been in such a situation where the employer had to resubmit your application, and did that make it longer for you to get your permit?
How much time does it take for a decision to be made after our status changes to "In treatment by Office" ? Any idea ?
@Suyog Ghadge
Hi, congrats first of all! May I ask how you provided them with the above documents? Isn’t your employer doing the checks since they applied for you?
@rosieallison95
Hi, how did you manage to get an update? Didnt your employer apply for you?

@GuestPoster1114147
Do you know why your work permit took so long? I'm currently still waiting for the work permit for 2 months now and I'm finding it weird. They did request additional documents but I provided them a month ago. was it the case for you?
@Mananar
It is the same case with me. I have been waiting for almost 2.5 months now for the work permit. May I ask what documents they request from you?

It's been 4 months and 3 days now.
HR tried to follow up with ibz via email.
Would it be better if we call them ?
@AFH9
You can provide documents to them through employer. But also you can write a mail and attach documents to infodesk@ibz.fgov.be
@Suyog Ghadge
Oh I see, what do you reference for them to know your application? Is your passport enough?
@helbu
It will not make a difference. .. If you are in belgium you can check the application status at https://single-permit.socialsecurity.be/
I am also waiting as well. My WP was also approved on 15 May ... but still waiting

@Blue Horizonn
Hopefully you’ll be getting it soon since on their website they put 17 weeks as the estimated time. Have you heard of cases that applied during the same period and have got it already?
I got my work permit on 16th of June and I’m still waiting (14 weeks)
Hey everyone, for those who got their residence permits, were you notified by your employer? Or by the gov on the same email that sent the “Privacy Notice”?
@AFH9
If you get annex 47 employer is notified. If you get annex 46 employee (you) will be notified.
annex 47 is given only after 16 weeks after the work permit is granted

Hi everyone, I’m looking for some advice regarding my residence situation in Belgium.
My company applied for my single permit in May, and I received the work permit approval on the 15th of May. From what I understand, once the work permit is approved, the Immigration Office should issue a decision on the residence part within 120 days. But today it has already been around 138–140 days, and I still haven’t received a decision. I contacted them, and they said the file is still under processing because they are waiting for some external government organizations before they can give a final decision.
Meanwhile, my current residence card is expiring on 31st October. As far as I know, I need to apply for a renewal at least 15 days before expiry in order to legally remain in Belgium.
My concern is:
What if the single permit decision comes after the 15th of October and it is unfortunately negative? At that point, I would no longer be able to submit a renewal for my current residence permit.
To be on the safe side, would it make sense if I apply for the renewal of my student A-type card around the 15th of October, just to ensure I can legally stay, even though my single permit request is still pending?
Has anyone here been in a similar situation or can share what the best course of action would be? Thanks in advance!
