Denied Reason: please provide a detailed address in Vietnam
@Aidan in HCMC
The exact reason for denial is as follows: "you are required to provide a correct address where you will stay and contact phone number in viet nam. if your information is inappropriate, your application would be refused"
Thank you so much for your help, I'll update on my amnedment status.
-@sap16
Any luck?
Hello @Aidan, my denied reason is "Please provide your detailed address", does it mean the detailed address in my hometown?
In the other hand, usually when we've received a notification regarding the reason of the denial, how long does it take to have the application unlocked for my amendment cause I could not update the application upon receiving the notification and the status of the application is still showed "in processing" but not "amending" status when I checked from e-visa search menu portal.
Many thanks, Aidan.
Hello hnsa13. Welcome to the expat.com VN forum.
Hello @Aidan, my denied reason is "Please provide your detailed address", does it mean the detailed address in my hometown?
If you're referring to the field(s) under...
CONTACT INFORMATION
Permanent residential address,
then I suggest no it does not mean your home address. You'll notice that this "CONTACT INFORMATION Permanent residential address" field is not a mandatory field to be completed, as all mandatory fields on the application are marked by an asterisk ( * ).
My thinking is that it is referring to the field under...
INFORMATION ABOUT THE TRIP, specifically
Intended temporary residential address in Viet Nam * (note the asterisk there)
In the other hand, usually when we've received a notification regarding the reason of the denial, how long does it take to have the application unlocked for my amendment cause I could not update the application upon receiving the notification and the status of the application is still showed "in processing" but not "amending" status when I checked from e-visa search menu portal.
Many thanks, Aidan.
-@hnsa13
Experience has shown that once an application has been denied pending an amendment that it is amendable immediately. The fact that yours is still "In Processing" would indicate to me that a formal rejection/amendment-request has not actually been registered (that is a good thing). Hang tight just a bit more. It might very well be that (with luck) your application will soon receive approval.
How many times have you applied for an eVisa in the past, referencing your mention of "...usually when we've received a notification regarding the reason of the denial..."?
Also, when is your intended arrival date?
I invite you to review the points made in post #297 of this thread, here.
edit; I have removed your second post as a duplicate

Frustrating. It is becoming obvious that citizens of some countries, notably Nigeria and Pakistan, are experiencing difficulty in receiving their eVisa approvals for some reason.
It may well be in the best interest of people from these countries to consider employing the services of a proven, reliable and trustworthy Vietnam visa agent. Please see posts #319 and #320, here.
If you'd like to pursue this avenue, please let us know.
note: no member of expat.com's Vietnam forum has any financial interest in referring members to a local visa agent. We do so only in an effort to help fellow members receive their eVisa approval.
@Aidan in HCMC would you happen to have a contact for some trustworthy agent? i reached out to one which is listed as one of the free recognised ones but no response

Hi Aidan,
You seem to be helping a lot of people on here so I had to ask. My Vietnam visa was denied once. I think I might have it now. Is this address an acceptable way to write it:
Haap Transit Hotel, 21 D. Vo Nguyen Giap, Thai Phu, Soc Son
Hanoi City (from drop down)
+84 974 300 484

Hello my fellow Canadian
The address looks good, though I'd add just a couple of words to it as you've typed it in English.
Haap Transit Hotel, 21 Vo Nguyen Giap Road, Thai Phu Ward, Soc Son District
Also, replace the telephone's "+84" country code with a "0" (0974 300 484)
Please let us know the result of your application (you'll be fine)

FANTASTIC NEWS!!
I'm so glad the amendment worked, must be a real stress relief!
Hello @Aidan in HCMCI
I got the same problem with Veitname e-visa residential adress.
My visa was danied several times already and I amended with this adress.
Please Could you have a look is looks fine?
Thank you very much
Acorn Saigon Hotel 40/23 Đ. Bùi Viện, Phường Phạm Ngũ Lão, Quận 1, Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh.
@Aidan in HCMC
thanks very much for your detail guidance. I'm applying a business visa. this is the first time that I apply e-visa. "usually...." means "current practice" that how long the system will open the application for our amendment once we are requested to update the application.
One more question. do you see any risk if my e-visa is in the process of approval and I go ahead to apply the pre-approval letter for landing visa?
Thank you!

Hi @Aidan in HCMC
Thank you so much for taking time out to help fellow forum members with the visa application.
I wish I knew about this forum the first time I applied for I and hubby evisas.
If I remembered vividly we applied on the 10th of this month and it's been one amendment after the other. Infact, just this morning, we have amended another denial.
The quest to find a solution through TripAdvisor led me to a comment someone made and mentioned this forum and I have spent the entire evening reading this particular topic.
It is disheartening to read what ordeal certain passport holders pass through.
Thank God we decided to apply early as our travel date is 11th Nov.
I think with the knowledge gained here, I am better equipped to amend my application should it come back needing amendment (hopefully not )
I also might also lean on your expertise Aidan, if that is the case
Sorry guys for the long post (just a newbie )

Hi there, and welcome to the forum.
Two recommendations. First, remove the "23" from the street address. That "23" is the hotel's address in hem 40 (i.e. alley 40) on Bui Vien. Secondly, try amending the address by entering it in English, as...
Intended temporary residential address in Viet Nam * - Acorn Saigon Hotel, 40 Bui Vien Road, Phan Ngu Lao Ward, District 1(include nothing else in this line)
City/Province * - HO CHI MINH City(from drop-down box)
Phone number (in Vietnam) - 0867 884 023(optional, but of late immigration has been requesting a tel#)
Try that (copy/paste to your amended application). I think that will fix it for you. Please let the forum know of the results. We'd very much appreciate it.
@Aidan in HCMC
Hi Aidan. I am from Iran and applied for tourist Visa
the problem is the address which I put for hotel
it is Sofitel Saigon Plaza 17 Đ. Lê Duẩn, Bến Nghé, Ward, Hồ Chí Minh 700000, Vietnam
but I got the message that I should put the detail of temporary place that I intend to stay at.
could you please help me with this?
@Aidan in HCMC and everyone,
Thanks for your immense support and guidance on this evisa journey. I am happy to report that I got my visa!!
What did I do differently?
I deleted everything in the form and started afresh with new uploads. Left the hosting organisation blank. Added 'District' to Hoan Kiem where my hotel is. Applied for 20 days and entered only date of entry and allow the system compute the days.
Wrote cash of $1500 for expenses. And said Yes to insurance, under details I wrote 'Travel Insurance'.
They approved exactly 20 days although we are going for 16 days so we have 2 days before and 2 days after as buffer.
Hubby's is not yet out hopefully, before the day runs out or Monday 🤞

Hello Heidarianji. Welcome to the expat.com Vietnam forum.
The correct address to be input in English (you can copy/paste), would be...
Intended temporary residential address in Viet Nam * - Sofitel Saigon Plaza, 17 Le Duan Road, Ben Nghe Ward, District 1 (include nothing else in this line)
City/Province * - HO CHI MINH City (from drop-down box)
Phone number (in Vietnam) - 0283 824 1555 (optional, but recommended due to immigration recently insisting on its inclusion)
Do not include "Vietnam", nor the postal code "7000".
Also, take a quick look at the first paragraph in post #297, here to ensure you are inputting the address in the correct panels.
That should do it for you. Please post back to the forum the results of your amended application. It would be very much appreciated.
In the (hopefully unlikely) event that the application is again denied, please do not hesitate to reach out to us again for assistance. There does not appear to be a limit to the number of times an application can be amended, pre-approval, with one member amending their application 10 times prior to receiving approval.

!EXCELLENT NEWS!
There are quite a few Nigerian citizens struggling with their eVisa application who will read your post with great interest. Let me add that your amendment strategy (i.e. deleting and reentering all the mandatory fields) was a brilliant tactic! Thank you very much for sharing this with us.
(fingers crossed for your husband's application approval)
@Esthereninxxx
Congratulations, this is really great news and moreso because you did it on your own. I hope it works out the same way for other Nigerians that haven't had luck applying for their E-visas.
It is now apparent to us that citizens of some regions/countries, including but not limited to Africa (most notably Nigeria), Pakistan, Bangladesh, as well as others, are experiencing difficulty in receiving their eVisa approvals.
We will continue to try to help applicants from every country successfully complete their eVisa applications. However, continued denials/amendment-requests from immigration will suggest to us that the applicant has encountered an impediment to their receiving an eVisa approval. At that point our options/advice to the applicant will have been exhausted. Members are encouraged to continue with their own efforts to receive approval (time permitting), but the reality might be that it will result only in effort wasted.
It may well be in the best interest of people from these regions/countries to consider employing the services of a proven, reliable and trustworthy Vietnam visa agent. Please see posts #319 and #320, here, for a member's account of his experience in using such an agent.

Aidan always refers people to me and I refer them to one of my long time trustworthy agent friends, when appropriate.
Unfortunately the one agent I know who specializes in this assistance is no longer willing to help citizens of certain countries who have already been rejected or who have applications pending due to corrections needed.
Unfortunately citizens of Nigeria are among the group of people who are having the most problems and she is no longer able to assist them.
Please see my explanation and recommendation in this other thread post:

Try vietnam-visaDOTcom, for the reasons I outlined in that message.
Good luck!
@OceanBeach92107
I can say that I've had nothing but positive reports from members regarding vietnam-visaDOTcom .
Hi guys,
More update:
My husband’s visa has been granted!!
In a twist, he was granted 90 days from November to February 2025 (I applied for 90 days for him when I saw people advising to go the whole duration) and also in the spirit of trying something different.
Maybe a benevolent official attended to his application or the after effect of a good holiday
This is to encourage guys struggling (especially my fellow Nigerians), as long as your intentions are genuine, don't give up and apply monthssss ahead of your propose travelling date. Finally, don't book flights till your visa is in your hands.
Vietnam, here we come!!
Thank you @Aidan in HCMC and @OceanBeach92107 forall your help on this topic

-@Aidan in HCMC
I hate to say it but I think the key here is to contact them before there is a rejection or before there is a correction required and there's trouble getting the resubmission accepted.
people from countries experiencing difficulties with immigration need to make contact with an agent before ever attempting to apply online if they want to ensure that they have the best chance of their application being approved.
it's true that anyone from any country can apply online.
however not all applications are guaranteed to be accepted.
anyone applying from an impoverished or politically unstable country probably needs to contact an agent first.
Hello House!
My tourist visa got approved today !
Thank God!
I also want to thank Mr Aidan for his immense support and patience throughout the application process.
God bless you sir!

Hello dogangoksel. Welcome to the forum.
I'll try to help you, but first I have a couple of questions.
I'm assuming you've already received a denial/amendment-request from immigration.
How many denials have you already received? Please copy/paste the reason(s) immigration gave for the denial(s).
Pease tell me where you found the address you've given us for the "Smile Hotel". I ask because I'm unable to confirm a "Smile Hotel" in Nha Trang at that address.

Okay, thank you.
As a new member, any links you provide will be subject to review by our administration team. Please send the web address again, but replace any "." in the address with the word "DOT". For example, write it as wwwDOTexpatDOTcom.
This is important, as I am unable to verify the address given as being for a "Smile Hotel".

Can I write the name and address of a more recognizable hotel?
For example Intercontinental nha trang
Or Sheraton nha trang hotel
this will be more guarantee isnt it ?
When i was in vietnam past January there was not a problem.I wrote a simple hotel address on application form.I got in 3 days. But now i have problem. Our journey is on october. We have more time but i want take my visa before that date.
Thank for your time
@Aidan in HCMCHotel web site is ,http://smilehotelnhatrangdotcom/
Hmmmm. Not working for me, using http://smilehotelnhatrang.com/
There are two hotels in Nha Trang with the word "Smile" in their name, neither are at the address you'd given.
Can I write the name and address of a more recognizable hotel? For example Intercontinental nha trang Or Sheraton nha trang hotel this will be more guarantee isnt it ?
Yes, you most certainly can use the name of a different hotel in Nha Trang. No problem, and would have been my recommendation if we were unable to confirm the address you'd used.
There is no penalty against a person changing their mind about which hotel they will stay at after arrival, and it is the responsibility of the hotel you decide to use to register you with the police/immigration after you've checked in.
The correct address to be input in English for the Sheraton Hotel (you can copy/paste), would be...
Intended temporary residential address in Viet Nam * - 26-28 Tran Phu Road, Loc Thọ Ward, Nha Trang (include nothing else in this line)
City/Province * - KHANH HOA (from drop-down box)
Phone number (in Vietnam) - 0258 3880 000 (optional, but recommended due to immigration recently insisting on its inclusion)
When i was in vietnam past January there was not a problem.I wrote a simple hotel address on application form.I got in 3 days. But now i have problem. Our journey is on october. We have more time but i want take my visa before that date.
Good that you applied early. A mistake made by many of our members is to wait until their departure date nears, causing quite a bit of stress to themselves. Give yourself as pat on the back for having the forethought to apply early!
Now I know you've completed the application before to allow yourself entry back in January, but please take a moment to read the first paragraph in post #297, here.
Thank for your time -@dogangoksel
You're very welcome. Go ahead and make the amendments to your application and resubmit it. Don't be too concerned about the number of amendments you make, as there does not appear to be a limit. One recent member (who eventually received approval) submitted their amended application 12 times.
That should do it for you. Please let us know the result of your resubmission. It would be very much appreciated.
In the (hopefully unlikely) event that the application is denied, please don't hesitate to reach out to us again, and we'll give it another try.
