very easy via futa, viettel post, giao hang nhanh , giao hang tiet kiem etc thousands of couriers within VN area. What u just need is to google them and contact and hear suggestions, which suits your case.

Added security (no handle ), and easier for the delivery people to stack it during transport.

When I left Nha Trang I left a small suitcase with a friend.
I would like it sent and delivered to my apartment in Danang (An Thuong area) to arrive about the 16th of December.
Advice/suggestions welcome.

Based on my personal experience shipping suitcases within Vietnam from Hanoi, Danang, Tam Ky, Quy Nhơn and Vũng Tàu, easiest will be for your Vietnamese friend to ship by ground to a person with a Vietnamese name.

Either Vietnam Post or Viettel Post will do this without a problem.

Viettel Post will even wrap the suitcase in a makeshift cardboard box, or "bag" it in some poly/thread ripstop material.

If either shipper or recipient has an Expat name it CAN cause them (especially Viettel Post) to take a closer look inside the suitcase (which they have the right to do in any case).

Shipping "express" (usually involving air transportation) tightens the limitations on what can be included in the suitcase.

I've lived in DaNang for over 10 years.  I've had items shipped from several parts of Vietnam to my residence here; from books to suitcases and a weight machine to a motorbike.  Never had a problem.  I've used the train a couple times, bus and vans several times from Saigon to DaNang, Thanh Hoa to DaNang and once from Nha Trang.  I'm sure your friend in Nha Trang knows of all these methods to transport such an item.  Personally, I'd have your friend ship by train when you arrive in DaNang...It's a 10 to 12 hour ride from there to here.  You can pick up yourself the next day at the train station.

Vietnam is superb for this & incredibly affordable.

My suggestion is use a company that ships by train as they tend to take more care. Cost wise you'll be looking at around 200k with door to door service.

@Des500 Hi Des. What about shipping a bicycle from HCM to Da nang? I need to do this next week, i think the train is around 500k but it would be nice if they could pick up from my place here. I'm gonna use Viettel post for the rest of my stuff, although VN airlines only charge 260k for an extra 23kg so might just put it on the plane.

@departed00 Hi! Make a phone call to NhaTrang Station Freight Department to order, they forwarder will come to take this. I did the same job from HoChiMinh to HaNoi, and I think that NhaTrang is the same. And other easy way is call to [link moderated]

How about sending it by bus? In Balkans is  regular thing to ask driver to carry package where he is going, with modes fee, supplyimg him with phone number of package recipient, it shouldnot be fortune here too.

I just sent 50kgs (4 boxes) from Saigon to Da nang for 300k, Viettel post booked on their app. I'll let you know if it works out!

I also sent my bicycle on the train yesterday, it was 190k.

Better hope Sam Brinton isn't anywhere near
