I am working here on a work visa and my spouse wanted to start a homemade food business. I heard from my friends that we need to set up a company first. Could anyone suggest where can I find the information to start such a company ? And what are different cons in setting up a company?

Contact an accountant. He/she will explain you the process. You will need to register a company or start off as a side activity (your wife just getting a TVA number) and get food safety certification.
