International/English Schools & Healthcare

Hi guys,

We are a family of 7 from Lancashire, who have decided we want to move to Spain. We are looking at a few different locations; Alicante, Malaga, Valencia, Palma, Tenerife & Majorca.

We've come round to looking at schools, on average we are looking at around £4300 annually per child. By the time we have got round to getting there, the 2 eldest would be done, however there are still 3 more to put through school. Does this seem about the average throughout Spain?

Also we are looking into healthcare & dentistry, which we have read there are good English options out there, we are struggling to find out what the availability is like etc?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks

Bobby

Hi Bobby

State schooling is free in Spain for residents. Regarding healthcare, state healthcare is available if you pay into the system or free to some residents (OAP). What are your 2 eldest going to do with their life in Spain considering Spain youth unemployment is 40%?

Hiya! Thanks for the swift response! They are only 11 and 14 at the minute, but the eldest will be working for me at the time we move over. Are the state schools and healthcare English speaking? We are intent on being as fluent as we can by the time we get there via various means, so it shouldn't be too big a problem.
