Locking posts.

bigpearl

I see a few times recently, even today where a subject has been closed, twice now for one member in less than 2 weeks even though from my reading of the forum rules these posts/Moonunits submissions have not broken protocols but next simply a right wing belief and pushed.
Is this an open forum or a political platform? At times I wonder.
I thought the goal of this and other forums was to give/share information, enlighten, grow and prosper.
If a member says that a left handed ferret sexer is far better than a right handed unit which may be my preference as it works well for my right handed ferrets then I will question, not attack and there is always the chance that I may learn something.

The locked posts offered a heck of a lot of information both good and bad depending on ones alignment/thoughts but are simply opinions and honestly? I see a one sided view why they were closed.
As said by other members, we are adults and can decide, any different to FOX or CNN? Watch or no.

I would question the moderators why this happened.
If I get blocked/banned it proves where the land lies.

OMO.

Cheers, Steve.

The forum is an expat mutual help platform, definitely not a political arguing dump. The British can join Urban 75 for that stuff, our American cousins can try whatever they have over there.

That sorts out pretty much everything on CNN and Fox. Different colour - same 100% truth as they see it.
Truth is commonly what someone wants to believe, not what is actual fact, so that leaves us with political arguments, falling out, and insults, but no useful information.

Disinformation and tin foil hat stuff is even worse, so that tends to go pretty quickly.

The big question is not why threads are locked or posts removed, but why would anyone want to push their 'truth' on a mutual help platform instead of a political forum?

bigpearl

Why am I not surprised with anything here or in the world in general? Some people have barrows to push while others take note. Learn. As said we are talking about an open forum for expats in the Philippines.

I would beg to differ on Moonunits original post, conveniently removed and as said I personally took no offence nor felt an agenda being pushed nor offered.Simply his observations,,,,,, left handed ferret sexers?

Recently I had a moderator (personal MSG) from another expat site questioning, if not condemning me for giving a 5/10 or 20 peso tip to the guys that deliver the sh*t that comes from Lazada or shopee saying that Filipinos are tight and don't expect a tip..........
My opinion is obviously very different to his and for me? I will keep tipping my delivery guys and 2 nights ago a call from a delivery guy,,,,,,, one of our regulars,,,,,,, is it OK to deliver in the evening as it's on my way home,,,,,,,, 13 peso tip (round up) NP.

You all Know I am gay and live with my Filipino better half here in PH. and never has any one attacked our choice here or any other site, my work colleagues the same,,,,, I/we appreciate that as it should be. My/our choice and well respected for my 8+ years on expat sites. My choice and my opinions at times get questioned/corrected. Some times my bad.

OMO I believe Moonunits original post was manipulated for others beliefs and honestly needs to be reinstated so the thinkers on this site can offer an opinion, not just one. Perhaps I am dim but as said his blocked post was about his dying mother. The rhetoric that followed meant nothing to me but as this is an open forum? Apparently not.

As for truths? Isn't that up to the individual to make that choice in an open forum? The OP never attacked nor pushed his beliefs but simply offered an opinion. Bye because it didn't suit the oligarchy.

OMO.

Cheers, Steve.

No, it was about pushing unproven drugs that every doctor apart from those making money from it, say there is no evidence it works.

That was his second thread on the subject, the first was not removed as there was no evidence either way, but history has shown it to be a load of old crap.
This miracle cure of the mother thread was entirely different as it's known to be ineffective and, as you may notice, shoved into the world by the same doctors as the first, and pushed by the same politicians.

As I mentioned before - Truth is often what people want it to be, not what is actually true. Quite why anyone would want to post such stuff anywhere, except the doctors getting paid to create such stories, politicians pushing a 'useful' point of view, and anti-vax sites that make millions from health food companies, is beyond me.
I can easily see how a lying con artist on the make would want to get their 'truth' out, but what advantage is there for normal people to push rubbish?

As you you being gay, I didn't know, and don't care. Whatever floats your boat.

Proven or Not...Its nice to sense/feel what a respected member like moonunit has to say...it does hurt some.

Anyways we all have our concerns/questions about wtf going on & we would like to hear different perspectives not just what the media has to say (lots of bullshit)...I also understand that Fred has a real tough time in vetting all that is being said/laid out (guys its a real tough position to be in!)
Anyways we will get through all this like we always do (with or without censorship) & Btw I don't tip shopee delivery guys as like my neighbours have told me NOT to as it will spoil the market or something along those lines. (Again omo)
:D

While you're busy censoring posts, to protect us unabashed simpletons from drinking the cool aid may I suggest you check out "New members of the Philippines forum, introduce yourselves here-2021".

In particular report #24 on Jan 27. . . . . .Are you so tied up haranguing established members that you allow posts like #24?

Expats.com is a commercial business that would like to make money on the advertisements. As a moderator of this forum your discretionary abilities or lack of them influences the profits of Expats.com.

If you do not allow leeway of the posts the advertisers will have less page views and spend their advertising budgets somewhere else. I would think the shareholders would like more traffic and would agree with what I said. If there were no off topic posts this forum would have died from inactivity.

Looks like you are a serial poster. Posting on the Portugal, Spain, Antwerp, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, London, Turkey and Philippine forums all in one day.

I would think it would make sense expat.com would have somebody in the Philippines do the monitoring.

That post is now under review, but you left out the part that he is representing his own firm which is an investment group looking for business partners. Maybe it will be as big as Gamestop or Bitcoins.

Thank you for the trolling. Perhaps locking this thread is a good idea
