Expired visa, overstays etc

Anyone knows anything pertaining to the 1 month tourist visas given when entering Thailand?
Because of the lockdown, many are stranded with expired visas and overstayed.
Is the government going to impose unreasonable fines and penalties or instead understandably waive them?  Same with renewal or extension fees? Or are they going to charge them regardless and retrospectively?

Perhaps you will get your answer on the Thailand forum.

I think if your tourist visa expired on March 26th or later the government granted amnesty till July 31.

Google "visa amnesty Thailand" for detailed info.

Stray dog is right: Anyone caught in Thailand by Covd-19 has until 31/07/2020 as a "right of stay" or amnesty. No penalties will apply up to then...Bill
