With regards to my friends DP cancellation. My friend has gone back to india due to emergency and her husband has applied for EP cancellation. Does she physically needs to be present for DP cancellation or this can be done back in India

There is a way to cancel EP and DP without presenting passport.
Go to the ESD website and find the Downloads section. The process is described as a Note under the section "Shortening EP or DP. The employer does it. Remind them of the option.
