Arriving in Dakar in October - Few Enquiries :)

Hello everyone!

Im moving to Dakar in October and am really excited to see what the city and its people have to offer! On a more formal note, I will be staying for longer than 3 months and so will need to issue a carte d'etranger. I'm a British citizen so was hoping I would find another brit here (or anyone else) who is acquainted with the process and could give some. Is it essential that I get a crb (criminal record check) alongside birth certificate for the process? I have not lived in the uk for a long time which is why it would be particulary difficulty to issue the police record. Also is it true that I need a return flight to enter Senegal? (planning to go on a one way flight). Otherwise, I would appreciate any advice you have for me about Dakar and the Wolof language.

Thanks a lot in advance!!
Yusuf

Hi Yusuf,

I'm sorry no one replied to you earlier. How was your move to Dakar? I also have the similar questions to you. How was the carte d'etranger process? Did you need to have a return flight (I imagine you did).

Best wishes, Diarra
