I'd like to have a german passport since I'm german by birth, I"m 25 years old and my mother is german, she was married to my father, an american, at the time of my birth. I am sure I am a german citizen by birth just not sure how to get the paperwork. I've emailed the embassy many times they keep sending me to the website where everything I need is written in germany. I have family in germany and I'd like to move there one day in the future. please help me figure out exactly what paperwork I need in order to do this

Steve is your Birth certificate german???  if it is take it to the landrats amt pass stellen and say nothing and tell them you want to apply for a german passport and show them your german birth certificate, that is all, and they have to give you one, that is what I did, and I have one, but I have both US/German, when in Germany I am considered a german and in the US an American.  Charles
