Traffic in Austria

Hello everyone,

Which city or area do you live in in Austria, and how do you find the traffic?

How long does it take to commute to work or run errands?

Is there a rush hour in your city? What times of the day would you recommend people to avoid driving if they can?

Are there any ways to avoid spending too much time in traffic in Austria?

What is parking availability and cost like?

Thank you for sharing your experience.

I live in a small town so traffic in my area is very quiet, we only really use the car to do shopping trips. Austria has a very good transport system. Going into Vienna early morning and leaving there are risks of tailbacks. So a lot of people prefer to commute into the city by train.

Rush hour traffic is pretty typical of most cities in Graz. If you are working in or commuting through the city center public transportation is a good option. Trains are also a good option for getting in and out of town. Other than rush hour the traffic is at worst stop and go.
