Hi everybody,
the idea ia to move to Malta in future. What I observed so far, not every appartment has an air con.
Is it allowed to instal my own, split-air-con? When moving out I like to take it with me.

I would not do anything without the Landlords express permission in writing!
When you remove it it will leave, at worst, holes where wiring and pipes have gone through walls and at best signs that they were there but have been filled in.
Many, though not all, Landlords only need the slightest excuse not to return your deposit.
You could negotiate to fit the aircon and pay perhaps 50/50 and then leave it behind or maybe get the landlord to install it subject to a slightly increased rent.
