Kristin;
Thank you for your efforts to update the Belize Guide. It must have taken some time on your part. I too read the posts from a couple of weeks ago and found that much of the information appeared to be taken from publications on International living and was at best (or to be kind) out of date. My intention was to do the same thing, but I never got around to it so I applaud you for actually taking action.

I clicked on the link provided in your comment but it took me to the original articles and I could not find any of your updates. I would love to read them as would many others I'm sure. I was hoping that when you get some time you might post the links to your articles, or create a new topic for each so that others could read, comment, and provide additional insights.

I think that the contrast between what we often find online, and what we ultimately experience to be reality would not only stimulate some conversation but would also be very helpful to present members and future members that wish to make an informed decision.

Haha! Nope. That was written by me. I guess I'm a Pollyanna. They gave me the original articles which were much worse than that, and I revised them. They just wanted a rewrite, not a start from scratch. It just wasn't even accurate information before.

My apologies Kristin,
please disregard everything after  "Thank you for your efforts to update the Belize Guide."

Taking foot out of mouth now. I hope the bite marks on my knee will heal quickly.

No worries at all, Bill. It takes so much more than that to offend me! Like I said, I'm a Pollyanna. And they had a limited budget for the rewrites, so I put in more time than what I got paid for, but maybe not the fullness of my gifts. And just so it's clear to everyone, they didn't come to me and ask me to rewrite them. I went to them as a freelancer asking if they needed help, and they offered this as a possibility. Honestly, I hadn't even known before then that we had expat guides. So, I left the structure and just fixed the information and grammar errors. They were six years old and had been written by someone who had never been here. It was pretty bad. Now they're just cheesy 😂
