Beer night in Malta

Hey all,

I know I am new on this forum, and I am currently out of the country, but there's one and only 1 thing that I really miss from the U.S. and I'd like to start doing the same thing in Malta once I get back.

In Austin, TX every Thursday night for about 6 years at 10PM I would meet up with friends at 1 particular pub, have a pint or 2 sit around and BS, vent the weeks frustrations, help each other out in finding work ( if needed )  and in general just relax and have a good time and over tip the waitstaff so they would like us to keep coming back.

If I can find enough interest I would like to start this back up at Andrews Pub in St. Julian.  It's a great little local place with excellent food, plastic chairs, a view of the bay and it's cheap.

Again IF you are interested please let me know and I will post a formal invite to all once I get back to Malta somewhere between the 14th and 22nd of this month.

Now the way it worked back home is it was usually somewhere between 6 and 13 of us that were dedicated :) enough to drink beer once a week. It was usually just the guys because the wives, or girlfriends usually just got bored but ALL were always welcome.

Please let me know what you all think...

Hi Chad,

I'm away from the island for 10 days and will be back on the 18 th November.

There actually are already several more or less regular groups meeting usually on Fridays but Thursday is certainly an option too.

Send me your e-mail on PM and I'll put you on the invite mailing list.It makes sense to co-ordinate the meetings a bit.

Just tell us when you are back and we can all get together for a Cisk ( maybe a bit earlier than 10 ?)

Regards
Ricky

I just got my tickets back there, I'll be back in town on the 27th and I expect to start something soon...   I'll get with Ricky in order to figure out the protocol to invite everyone.

I'll post something here once I get settled back into the house and we'll all meet up.  :)

Hi There,

Just joined this forum and am very interested in moving to St Julians and found your beer night interesting, being irish thats right up my alley as they say. if you dont mind let me know how you feel about living in St. Julians and some of your experiences there. Is the cost of living cheap? and is it easy to make friends there. Thanks for your time.

hey man, welcome to the forum...   Personally I live 5 minutes walk up the hill from Julians and I love the location...   If I want to head out and have a drink It's not a problem and if I want a nice quiet day I can head out onto the balcony.   there are a couple small grocery markets within 3-5 blocks of pretty much anywhere you decide to live and most deliver which is the best part.  My rent for a 2 bedroom flat is 300 per month, my internet is 13 and my basic utilities average around 25.  ( all in euro of course )   It's simply a great central location ( my opinion )

The only other option for me anywhere in the country would be Sliema....    I love my location and I am not moving from there anyime soon.

As for beer night I will be back in Malta on the 27th and will post something here as soon as I am back...  It's great to have interested parties.  :)

Let me know if you have any questions and Ill see you all soon.
