Does anyone have any recommendations for good shore fishing spots around the Island.
I haven't fished for 50 years and then only river / canal in UK.

Don't think anyone catches much from shore fishing here! Most locals go out in small boats , either their own or a friends, and may have better luck.
Plenty of locals and expats do fish from the main places such as Xlendi, Marsalforn and some from Hondoq but I have never seen them catch much!
I think if you were an experienced sea angler you do might do ok for fish like Bass, from rocky coasts, but might be a bit dangerous!
The other thing that is different is that the common baits such as Lugworm and Ragworm are not easily available here.

Thanks everyone for your info. I went down to Mgarr this afternoon with a neighbour and did manage to catch one using shrimp. I am trying to avoid the tourist beaches if I can and a boat is a bit out of reach at the moment.
