Free WIFI and tele comunications help

My current living situation means a good connection to the internet is difficult to come by or incredibly expensive after all who wants to pay for a year when your only living in the place for 5 months or so. Are contracts exclusive to addresses.
These questions are well beyond my french phone call skills.
Can anyone help me find free WIFI.
I don't seem to see a sign anywhere.
Where can I get a Dongle, here ia s Dongle still called Dongle.
A map of free wifi would be good for cities and villages around the Midi Pyrenees
Also are all the mobile providers expensive let me know.

:dumbom: I'm begining to feel more like a cave man

There appears to be several mobile phone networks that offer mobile internet services.
There's a better than average chance a pay as you go service will be available.

Beats being stuck looking for hotspots.

After further research my device doesn't take a sim card / or a dongle, so I'm stuck between waiting for a new phone and or MIFI.

Both leave me with questions. Wow they like making life complicated here. Europe Freedom of trade had a hell of a time trying to by a phone without a french bank account, dongle is defunct apparently these days.

Can't seem to find any info on mifi's yet they just seem to be that thing in a glass case in a shop the size of a wharehouse with no one around.

Man shop assistants are hard work too. go in the shop woman in front pulls out a cheque, nothing else. Says the one case of beer isn't hers takes about 10 minutes paying in a cheque or settling a bill, cashier is moving my small case of beer further and further away. Starts scanning some one else shop and I'm like that's not mine that's mine yes the case of beer you've moved half way across the store.

Who's idea was it to make every shop a bank its a joke, have to go see my bank manager see if he can advance me a sausage roll.
On the other hand its great for my french explaining what the french vegtable is called in french and trying to feel the hated. Trying to explain contracts and technical stuff to someone in French that is battling depression and low wages while trying to find a way to make it through another day of stacking boxes.

At what stage is that covered in a French course. Someone needs to update these basic french books and quick.
Laughs.

Just like when I worked in a supermarket, I sent the basket boy to get a bottle of ketchup 4 hours later when I finished my lunch he was wondering round the store still looking noone thought to tell me the learning difficulties guy couldn't tell ketchup from korea.

Its never been so hard to just give someone money for stuff. There is a whole giant industry of Britian's shipping stuff to France ironically using french businesses. Insanity
