Finding a job in The Netherlands

Hi there,

I am a South African currently studying in the USA BS degree in construction management and technology.  My expecting graduation date is Fall 2016.  I was wondering if someone can give me an answer how to get into The Netherlands and find a job there.  I know with the economy it's really hard to find a job over there, that's why I'm now searching for the right answers and some information how to get an working permit, what is the procedures to follow?  How hard it is for South Africans to get a job there?

thanks
michelle

Hi!

As for the visa you need in order to work in the Netherlands I suggest you to contact the Southafrican embassy or consulate: http://www.zuidafrika.nl

As for the job hunting, yes, there is chrisis but if you really want to work, you find something. The job hunting is more difficult for people like me who haven't a degree and have a poor and generical experience. Unfortunately, low level jobs sell like hot cakes, because there is much immigration. So, only high level jobs remain and low level people like me can't patecipate to the selections because they are too much strict.
In addition to that, if you don't speak Dutch you don't find anything. Fortunately, you speak also Afrikaans, which is very similar to Dutch. So, I think you have more possibilities than someone who speaks a different language.
Here are some websites I use for my job hunting:
