Hi,

Currently i am living in Greece and I am thinking of moving in Berlin because of a job offer in IT.I am nearly 28 and I hold a bachelor degree in Computer Science.I have almost 3 years work experience.

I would like to learn a few things..

1. The gross salary is 36,000euros. Is this a good salary to live(one person)and save on?
2. Could you please estimate for me how much will the net salary be?I have tried to calculate it through different sites but I always get a different result..:|

Many many thanks for your answers in advance!!!!!!!:):)

Hi Stella! Can give you approx. information: deduct 8.2% of your gross income for health insurance and around another 9.5% for pension and unemployment insurance/ plus some more for general taxation etc. You need to point out you don´t want to pay another tax: German Church tax.
I don´t have a tax program and am NOT a tax advisor but expect somewhere around 25,000 take home over the year. Best to contact a tax advisor who can help you assess anything you could deduct from tax. No one else is allowed to give you that information in Germany.
I don´t live in Berlin so maybe someone else can help with your other questions.
Best of luck!
John
