Travelling on ricevuta

Hello, I need some information about travelling to Canada. Me and my husband we have a valid visa for Canada and I have also valid permesso di soggiorno but my husband’s permesso is expired and he has applied for renewal and he has a ricevuta.


We have Pakistani passport so I want to ask can we travel outside Europe to any country with their visa? The only problem I see is that we cannot enter Italy with a ricevuta except from our home country. For some reason we don’t want to come back to Italy and we will be going to Pakistan from Canada after 3 months.
