Where to start, any suggestions?

tlevesque

Hello, my husband and I are hoping to move to Italy in the next year or two.  We vacationed there many years ago and have always intended to return. We recently retired and want to make this our next chapter in life.  It does seem like a daunting adventure not for the faint of heart.  Our job now is to learn some Italian and educate ourselves on the many details needed to simplify this.  Quite frankly, I'm not even sure where to start, any suggestions? I'm very grateful this forum exists!

@tlevesque

hello and welcome !

The first thing would be to get in touch with the Italian embassy closest to your country of residence to gather as much information about visa and requirements (if any).

Then, perhaps tell us a bit more about the type of weather or neighbourhood that most suit your needs.

Also, feel free to read the Italy Guide for general infos.

All the best
