PS - I love Indian food, one of the few things I really miss about the UK.

You should apply directly at Indian restaurants in Germany.
As for all jobs, similarly qualified EU-citizens must be preferentially hired, so focus your application on things no EU person can do (just Indian cooking isn't enough, since there are many people of Indian origin in the UK). And of course German language skills are also important, so start taking classes!
