How become an italian teacher in France

giuliadolcetti92

Hi,

My name is Giulia, I'm italian and I live in Nice since may 2025.

I'd like to become a professor of italian for french people, but I don’t know which steps I need to take based on my initial requirements.

If there were someone able to answer me, I would really appreciate it.

Thank you so much

Giulia

Hello Giulia,

Welcome to Expat.com 😀

Please note that your thread has been moved to the Nice forum.

I hope you will find the information you are looking for there.

Are you looking for a teaching position at a school, or are you more interested in giving private Italian lessons?

All the best,

Cheryl

Hello Giulia

Many begin by teaching online or offering private Italian lessons; this is a wonderful way to get experience and does not usually require a French teaching degree. A teaching certificate and a strong command of French are typically required if you wish to teach in schools or language centers in the future. To find your first pupils, it's also worthwhile to look into local language schools or expat communities. I'm wishing you luck as you begin!
