Greetings,

Does anyone have any experience or knowledge of French Language schools in Annecy.

I am at the A1/A2 level and am currently studying on-line.

Of course, I am able to find a list of schools through the internet but personal experiences

would be sincerely appreciated.

Hi Bob, my wife and I spent a month in Annecy about 15 years ago taking an immersion French language course at CILFA (centre de langue francaise d'annecy) which we enjoyed very much. Annecy is a beautiful town but very crowded in the summer.

I didn’t study in Annecy specifically, but I lived just outside Geneva and looked into a few options around there at A1/A2 level.

schools can definitely help with structure, but I found the biggest gap was speaking — actually using the language rather than just understanding it.

what helped me more was focusing on very simple situations and repeating them a lot (introducing myself, asking basic questions etc.)

I actually ended up building something small for myself to practice this more interactively because I struggled with it quite a bit at the time

but overall I’d still say schools are useful if you want structure + consistency
