Does anyone have a positive experience with obtaining the services of local septic tank maintenance and/or repair in the area of Nice, France and its environs? - @dranchg1

@dranchg1 For septic work, I would start with the mairie or the local SPANC for the commune, as they usually know which companies are approved locally and whether your system is due a compliance inspection. When you call providers, ask whether they do only emptying/cleaning or also repairs to filters, pumps and drains; some firms do one but not the other.

Before agreeing a visit, I would also ask for their SIRET/insurance, a written quote that includes disposal/transport fees, and whether there are access constraints for the truck. Neighbours are often the best first filter because septic companies tend to work very locally.
