Where would you buy a house for 150 000 euros in France?

Amadeus1

My brother and I will have a maximum of 150 000 euros cash to buy a house or 2 bed apartment. We thought about France as you can get quite a lot for your money there property wise. My brother said Annemasse near the border with Switzerland would be a good area to buy in as he can cross the border into switzerland and work in the hotels there. But the prices are expensive there. Only rural France like Normany and Brittany are cheap.

Has anyone got any idea where we could buy? I actually wanted to buy a house with a gite to let out and earn a living from but they are difficult to find within our budget. Perhaps France isn't the right country in Europe t hen?

we both have EU passports so we can go anywhere in the EU. Need to make a living though wherever we end up really. At least that's the plan.

Property prices vary significantly by region, but the most affordable areas are concentrated in Central France, the Southwest, and parts of Brittany. So search in those areas.
