Social security charges

johnpowell23

i have lived in France for 17 years and have filled a tax form in every year.  a few days ago I received an e-mail a few days ago telling me there were 'anomalies' in my last 3 years tax declarations. I replied saying that I had a small french pension and the rest of my money was mine and my wife's old-age pensions plus 3 small private pensions. I then received a demand for 2,550 euros for social security contributions over the 3 years. I have a carte vitale and a carte de titreur.

Has this happened to anybody else or is this a scam?

So

We are well aware of what SS is. So your point is? The OP is asking whether this is a scam.
