Who to contact in case of question on citizenship?

peterjohn1104

Hi all,

i know we have several sources to ask for information on the citizenship but what I would actually ask is where could we ask for legal advices (not lawyer as it is very obvious).

the issue is that the commune does not agree the way I count the continous legal years of residence although I showed them the conclusion of the constitutional court in 2021. Hence, I would just submit the application and let the public prosecutor decide. But it seems that the commune does not want to let me submit although they have no legal right to approve or reject my application.

then, what is the legal department of the public authority I could seek for advice? IBZ says it’s not their business.

thanks

Hi.

Search in Google ombudsman and in which city you are living in.

The ombudsman is a mediator who intervenes when a person has a problem with a government service or a company and is unable to resolve it with the service concerned. The ombudsman tries to find a solution, provides answers and, if necessary, makes recommendations to improve the service.
