Tariq 1983 : Has it all gone 'Pete Tong' ?
I joined this Forum many years before I became actively involved in the various discussion threads about a year ago. I was a ‘taker’ of information rather than a ‘giver’ to the Expat Forum community. Guilty as charged ‘Mea Culpa’

Not odd if being overvelmed by things needing to be done in startup. There can only be four reasons for the above: something serious has happened to the gentleman i.e deceased - perish the thought, in a jail in Angeles his chosen city, the ‘dream’ has all gone ‘Pete Tong’ or he is managing the transition in his adopted country.
I mean before signal have made stronger by equipment, which can take a while.))But there were some inconsistencies in his comments also. My main concern was his skin colour - yes I said it. Most members, including myself, were too politically correct to raise this issue. All other things being equal and knowing how Filipinos praise ‘white skin’colour this was always going to be a major but not insurmountable challenge. Unfortunately prejudice is still very much alive in the Philippines as it is worldwide. If the last two reasons apply then would it not have been a common courtesy to keep the Forum members updated given that he is by definition of his Blog ‘street cred’ when it comes to all things IT?- @Lotus Eater
so its possible they are targets for taking money from them.)I had several doubts about this gentlemans prospects in the country after having read several of his posts. Firstly his ‘naivety’ which to his credit he was trying to address the shortcomings of, through this Forum. I think I can speak for most Forum members by saying we were equally naive at his age.

as one of the players in that team said recently =He with a mango farm north of Manila I have mensioned some times.))I was wondering too about how our friend tariq1983 is doing. Since his arrival at Angeles, he has posted three shorts. The most recent one was a stroll on a street which seems like Angeles' red light district. IMO, it's not a good start in creating a blog where your topic is moving to the Philippines while you're still young and making a living here. And why short format videos? Tariq1983 is very articulate, which is why a regular format video with him explaining his experience would have been better and gain more interest / viewership. More views means better monetization on YouTube.- @FilAmericanMom

@Lotus Eater . . . . . . I recalled today a post from pnwcyclist regarding the whereabouts of our friend ‘Tariq 1983’ who was actively involved in this Forum and moved to the Philippines at the end of May this year.*****************************************************************I don't remember his name (Tow Truck?) who came with his dog and visiting various parts of the Philippines. What happened to him? Hello Tow Truck are you still trucking?- @Enzyte Bob

I have just been looking at some old posts and subjects on here and Eptowing was the guy who went to see one of his girls in Cagayan De Oro for a couple of weeks before visiting other islands to do some scuba diving. The Post was - Leaving Tomorrow and he said he was aiming to be in the Philippines for 64 days, travelling around and diving. He did get to Cagayan De Oro because he sent an update on the thread dated 3 May and another one on 15 May. Not sure he was the guy with the dog though. Not sure about Tariq 1983 although I guess there may be members living near Angeles who he has messaged privately and maybe arranged to meet up for a coffee or beer. I sent him a private message today though just asking if he was ok (Probably a long shot hoping for a reply if he has not given us an update on his progress on the forum, but I just thought I would try).- @Cherryann01

As I understand it this was going to be his main revenuestream along with other IT associated work - @Lotus Eater
Maybe they're all me- @Lost in FijiDon't drink the water.- @Enzyte BobMemory's gone, don't think it was drinking the water- @Lost in FijiFiji water ran a commercial saying "The label says Fiji because it's not bottled in Cleveland Ohio".The Cleveland Water Department ran tests. Fiji water contained 6.31 microns of arsenic per litre, while Cleveland Municipal water contained none. The cost of water in Cleveland is 1.6 cents per gallon.- @Enzyte Bob

Hitherto there has been no update from Tariq to this Forum other than a couple of videos from his Blog entitled ‘The Philippines Dream’ the last of which was several weeks ago. There can only be four reasons for the above: something serious has happened to the gentleman i.e deceased - perish the thought, in a jail in Angeles his chosen city, the ‘dream’ has all gone ‘Pete Tong’ or he is managing the transition in his adopted country.. . .So Tariq 1983 if ever you do read this thread and god willing you are still alive and kicking perhaps a ‘give back' to the Forum and update on your progress would be overdue.- @Lotus Eater

"Managing his transition...." If he was last seen on Walking Street and has not been heard from, he is probably reveling in the buffet of beauties there and is too busy with the girls to do much else. Maybe one even got him to try her drugs...BTW, I don't see a lot of prejudice against black people here in Angeles. There are a lot of black guys, and they don't seem to have any trouble getting girls. Of course, that's only one visible test; I have no idea whether there's prejudice in other areas.- @bizwizard
