CNN Philippines: AFP confirms leaked memo on preps for martial-law-like lockdown. Other news sources said the public should not be alarmed, the AFP, according to a memo will be overall in charge along roads and highways.

As I understand the news the military and police will enforce social distancing at curfew. Only essential workers and people buying food and medicine are officially allowed out of their homes. I thought this is the case now.

I think its one of the ways to contain the situation.. a little patience and sacrifice..everything will soon be over

The conditions which most of us now is close to martial law. Yesterday on the news I saw armored vehicles with machine guns.

You said "everything will soon be over" I fail to share that opinion with you. Also reading about the news in SE Asian, one head of state admitted he lied about the severity of the Virus, he explained he did not want to alarm his citizens.

Agreed...but the economic damage being done will infact be much worse than this infection...maybe thats what is bothering!
