Filipinos Can Sleep Anywhere

Moon Dog

Woke up the other morning and strolled to the front gate and saw some dude sleeping in the road. Looked like he parked his bike and curled up on the pavement across from the local whorehouse.

I admire that guy. This is my weakness. (No. Not whorehouses.) Sleeping.

I slept in the back of numerous 6x6 trucks in the Marine Corps. I could sleep anywhere in my late teens, early twenties.

I lived next to LAX in LA. Even without the soundproof windows the airport installed in most homes. Traffic noise or movement doesn't seem to bother me.

But base music? Chickens? Dogs? No way. I just can't do it.

And all three of those things are culturally accepted here. And will never change.

I live in a 15th floor condo. And long term am trying to find an isolated rest house way out in the mountains to rent for a year. Then maybe buy in a similar location and build a homestead.

Everything else can be overcome. Infrastructure - solar panels, battery backup, water containers or well, septic system, Starlink.

But noise can't be fixed.

Oh how I wish I could fall asleep in the middle of the street out front if a whorehouse! 😁
