Here we go again: It's the Philippines.

Enzyte Bob

I'm about to switch off my third internet provider (Converge).

I've little or no internet for over three weeks now, Download .2 mbs upload 320 mbs. Customer service is non existent, just like so many of the other institutions and businesses.

I've ditched P.L.D.T & Sky in the past for the same reasons.

So I'm ready to bite the bullet and order Starlink.

Cost: Pre-order P2700, Monthly service P3800, Hardware P28,000

Here we go again:

On their application they ask for the T.I.N. number. So I could not submit the application. It seems applying as an Expat for the T.I.N. is worse than navigating Immigration or Banks with all the red tape.

So has anyone navigate the T.I.N. rabbit hole?

If I remember correctly Bob, your wife is a Filipina. Would it not be easier for everything to be done in her name since I am reasonably sure she must have a TIN Number.

Have had less downtime with StarLink on last 2 years than Globe, Sky Fibre, PLDT had in the average month

it’s in my wife’s name, We have autopay. I don’t think they asked for TIN #

Getting a TIN in Cebu City was a simple walk-in walk-out procedure. Took only minutes.

I use SMART unlimited Internet for 999/month. 5G brings 100 mbps download rate. Enough for the whole family. Most of the time it works here in Boracay

(1) Which government office do apply at?

(2) What documentation should I bring?

@Enzyte Bob

Bob, I have a PLDT account in my name and when I look at my online record, there is a space for TIN number but it is blank. Maybe you do not need it if you are not using it for business purposes.
