Would like to relocate to Palawan....some advice needed?

Hi all

My wife and I are in our early 50's and live in Perth. We are tired of the rat race, high cost of living and are looking to move to Palawan (or somewhere else in the Philippines) to enjoy the island life and spend the next few years of our lives exploring the Islands and other places in the Philippines and SE Asia. We both love the outdoors, hiking, beaches, fishing, snorkeling etc so we need to have all that close to us.

I work full time from home and my wife can run her business from anywhere as well.

We don't want to be too remote so we are considering Puerta Princesa so we can still meet people, have friends, close restaurants, shops, activities etc

Can I have some advice on the following? I know some of the questions are pretty broad but just starting to do more research so just need some ideas.

What salary in AUD would allow us to live comfortably in Palawan with a decent house (2/3 bedrooms)

We like being close to the beach, what suburbs would be the best for us to consider?

What is the internet like in Palawan, I need decent and stable internet for my job?

If we wanted to come for an extended holiday to see if we liked it, what length visa could we get? 1 month? 3 months? 6 months? Is it easy to extend your visa if you decide to stay a bit longer? Do you have to leave the country to renew your visa?

What are the rules regarding buying property in the Philippines? Do you have to be a citizen/permanent resident?

How is the crime/safety in Puerta Princesa?

What would be our main obstacles that could cause issues for us moving to the Philippines? visas, our age, our income? etc

If there is a good website that has a lot of this info, please let me know.
